Our Farm
The
‘Monte Farm’ is 16 Km far from Firenze,
set on the Fiesole Hill-side, in the Chianti Rufina’s
Area, called via del vino Rufina-Pomino. The farm
name comes from the location, in fact , you can see
‘Monte Farm’ on the top of the hill at
350 m . Its plant – the Mansion, its church,
and farmlands- is still the Renaissance one.
A wide stateroom with bassorilievo and windows of
the XVI and XVII century, is in the most ancient part
of the Mansion. Close to the wine vault, you can find
an old oil press, a XIX century wine press and many
Renaissence tools.
The ‘Monte Farm’ has got a XVI century
plant: entering a big hall – now arranged for
business meetings and events - connected by stairs
to the kitchen area.

There
are Vines, Olive trees, Cypress and Oaks in the Mugello’s
hill-side; from here to Barberino you can go hiking
and trekking, also on horse back. Thanks to this location
the ‘Monte Farm’ is the right place to have
both sightseeing tours in the famous Tuscany towns and
relaxing in the country-side. This is a good point to
get to Vallombrosa, Casentino valley and Camaldoli,
too.
The old chapel, that is in the
mansion garden, was renovated keeping the XIX century
style, as it was done by the Galli’s Family.
There is a swimming-pool in a panoramical location;
this one has been recently made, starting from an ancient
fountain. |

The
ground, called Galestro, and the hill-side climate are
perfect to produce Chianti Rufina’s D.O.C.G wine.
Moreover we produce Vin Santo, 5 years aged in small
oaken barrels, those are called caratelli. We are also
very proud of our olive oil, that we produce very carefully.
The mansion is in a quite and
panoramic site; 500 m far from Doccia – a small
village , where you can find a furnished greengrocer
- 1 km far from Molino del Piano, where you can find
Pharmacy , Supermarket, Post office and News-agent.
Then It is 6 km from Pontassieve, 16 from Firenze and
about 60 km far from Siena and Arezzo. |
